Hi to all my painting MHDA friends... Hope everyone had a Happy and Safe 4th of July. Another month of excessive heat...Whoa!!! So much outside stuff to do and just so hot..over 80 degrees by 8 a.m. Even the dogs are not overly excited about their morning walk.
I hope that meant that some of your inside time was doing a little painting. Remember we would love to see what you have accomplished over the past month at show and tell. We all had to start at the beginning..some of us just started earlier than others. I wish I had some of my early pieces. Even the paint by number ones!!! Just to show what my beginning pieces looked like. Do you know that they still make Paint by Numbers!!!
I hope you have all signed up for this Saturday's class!!! and gotten your piece prepped. Make sure you check the email Marge just sent out with a list of suggested brushes. It looks like a great fun project...but there is PREP to be done.
Thank you to everyone who was not at the last meeting and who sent back their votes for our Anniversary Celebration. By Saturday Sandy should have them ALL calculated and will be able to give us our final vote.
I believe that Sandy has done a wonderful job of giving us three great choices. Please remember that we are letting everyone help with this decision... as with all voting the one that get's the most votes is the venue that we will do. In this day of chapter's dissolving, we can be very proud that we will be able to celebrate 20 wonderful years of decorative painting.
On a same note...we found the photo albums from the first 10 years. (Thank you Dani). If anyone has an idea of how we can best use some of these photos...please share your suggestions. We have the last 7 years of photos on our website. Hopefully between the paper photos and the digital photos we will have most of the memories covered.
I am still having a problem with bulk emails...(in case you did not get my email on this) Just a reminder that we are asking you to help Ways and Means in 3 ways... 1. Remember to bring in your "Birthday raffle gift bag" the month of your birthday or let Sharon know that you have chosen a different month. 2. Check out your closets and make a nice Gift Bag to supplement the months that we do not have 3 B/D bags brought in. (Sharon will store them) 3. Keep the Brown Bag (box) Raffle in mind while you are cleaning out the closet.. Make up a bag of stuff (not only art stuff) to raffle for that month. It possibly may be an Open Box Raffle.. so members can see what they are bidding on!!!
Hope to see many of you at this Saturday's meeting and workshop!! Stay cool!!!! and Happy Painting... Your Pres...Carole
